Why is my dog so lethargic after starting prednisone for IBD?

Good morning I started giving my dog 2 days ago prednisone and flagyl because he has been diagnosed with medium grade ibd lymphoplasmocyte I take him observing that he is more apathetic or more decayed and in general with more lethargy I would like to know if this is a side effect of prednisone or even flagyl. I am concerned. thank you a greeting. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 17 years and 9 months old | 73 lbs

Prednisone can absolutely cause behavior changes and mood alterations.
