How do I keep my cat from getting stressed during a large party?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Siamese | Female | spayed | 8 months and 12 days old | 4.41 lbs

Hello, We're having a family dinner/party, between 25 to 30 people. Skye has been around groups of people (not that big) I am concerned about her getting stressed out. How can I prevent her from getting stressed or ease the stress on her? Thank you in advance!

I am sorry to hear about your concern for Skye! You are certainly a good cat parent to consider her in this situation. If she tends to be a shy cat I would consider keeping her in a bedroom during the party where she may feel more comfortable. You can also utilize calming products such as Feliway pheremone products (available as sprays or diffusers https://www.feliway.com/us#redirected ) and a calming supplement such as Zylkene or Composure https://www.vetoquinolusa.com/content/zylkene https://www.vetriscience.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=9008103030 . If you do decide to keep her confined in a room you could also provide some white noise for distraction (there are many recordings available online or as apps for phones, etc.
