My baby bird is injured and bleeding after a fight. What to do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Male | 0.2 lbs

My baby birds are flying now going great until I noticed blood on paper....they're picking and fighting on the youngest baby. He was doing great until now. He's lost some wings and a claw....how do I help him? I have removed him from the others. He has a scratch Mark on his back. Do I treat him with any antibodies, He is alert but very to " himself".

It is good that you separated the bird being picked on. If he is actively bleeding, injured, or the sites of his wounds appear to be infected, then it is best to bring him to a vet and have him treated with antibiotics as needed. Until you can get to the vet, keeping him separate, cleaning any wounds of any debris or oozing, and preventing him from picking at the wounds can help some.
