Why are my senior Frenchie's neck lymph nodes swollen? What to expect?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | French Bulldog | Male | neutered | 10 years and 10 months old | 34 lbs

Our 11 year old male, neutered Frenchie has two swollen lymph nodes(neck). He’s as energetic as usual (which is to say, not very). He’s drinking more water, appetite is normal (good). His blood panel just came back normal. We went ahead with a needle aspiration, just in case. Ideas of what to expect?

These often enlarge with an infection in his mouth or an upper respiratory infection. I’m glad you’ve done an aspirate to be sure. Dogs do get lymphatic cancer but it’s most likely from an infection somewhere. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care for Mac.
