Why is my dog shedding so much for months? Should I see a vet?

Hello, my dog has been shedding like crazy! She has been shedding way more than usual for the past few months. We got her groomed and brushed but she is still shedding. I was wondering if I need to take her to the vet. Also I am not sure if this is helpful information but our weather has been crazy. It has been 90 for a few days then it will jump down to 75 then back to 85. Any information helps! Thank you. Excess shedding can be from low thyroid levels, hormonal imbalances, allergies or yes environmental. I do recommend a blood panel including thyroid, and if she’s not spayed you may want to get that done to settle down her hormonal swings. That will also prevent uterine infections and lower the risk of mammary cancer too. In addition I recommend a fatty acid skin oral supplement which will help the hairs live longer thus reducing the shedding amount.
