My dog's first heat: tried everything, still anxious. What helps?

My 13 month old chihuahua bitch has recently come onto her 1st season , she's become extremely nervous and scared , it's so sad to see Because she's usually very happy and outgoing, now she cowers when we go near her , we are having her spayed 3 months after finishing her season . We have brought stress relief plug ins , wipes ,sprays , she listens to a healing cd at night , but nothing helps , her anxeity is horrendous when we leave her alone, THIS season has changed her completely, Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | unspayed | 2 lbs

I'm sorry to hear Cheche isn't doing well! It sounds like you are already doing as much as possible to try and make her comfortable at home. If she is still very anxious or stressed, it is a good idea to talk with your vet to see if an anxiety medication could be given temporarily to help her through her heat cycle. Patience, keeping up with the calming techniques you are trying, and a little help from your vet will hopefully help Cheche relax.
