My dog has hair loss, itching, and red ears. Could it be allergies?

My poor 2 year old yorkie shih tzu began losing hair all over his body a few months back. I’ve taken him to the vet a few times now but nothing seems to help and I honestly can’t afford to keep taking him every time because I’m unemployed. I dont know what’s wrong with him :( they keep telling me it’s allergies but not sure what he’s allergic to. This is breaking my heart. I just want him to be ok. He’s always biting his paws and itching his body. His ears are always flicking and are always red. Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Male | unneutered | 2 years old | 9 lbs

I would consider trying a flea tick prevention in pill form. They could also be used off label for mites. I would also talk to your veterinarian about apoquel or cytopoint to treat Rocky’s allergies. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
