Puma had a very crusty piece of food we are thinking and once we took it off with some water the side of his mouth became swollen and red what is this, what should we do?it doesn’t seem to be bothering him in any way and his teeth and gums seem to be fine.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It was likely a scab and not food. Since there is no discharge I would leave it alone for now but continue to monitor it. If you see discharge or it doesn’t go away in a couple of days, I would have a vet take a closer look. Good luck and kisses to Puma!
