My 3-week-old kitten is small. How to get her to eat & regulate temp?

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | 20 days old | 0.22 lbs

Is it normal for some kittens to be small for theor age? She cant finish 6-7 ml of kmr every feeding but she’s not sick or lethargic.Mine is an orphaned one and she started walking though it’s wobbly and she started chewing on the nipple and livking her paws. I think she is three weeks old. Can she regulate her temperature now or do i still need the heating pads? and what do i need to do for her to eat more?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! At 3 weeks you can start to introduce canned kitten food mixed with the KMR. I like to wean bottle babies earlier due to intestinal issues with formula. As long as Pia is gaining weight and growing she is likely fine. You can try to do smaller more frequent meals to see if you can get more overall volume in. I would try to have her on 100% kitten food by 4-5 weeks. At 3 weeks she shouldn’t need the heating pad anymore as she should be able to regulate her temperature. Good luck!
