Thabk you for submitting your question regarding your dog. The gestation period in a dog can be up to 72 days depending on the date that you are counting from and it can vary between pregnancies. I suspect that she will have the puppies soon. If she appears to be in distress and has not given birth, then you will need to contact her veterinarian. Good luck!

Gestation time in dogs is usually around 63 to 65 days, in exceptional cases up to 68 days. If your dog is pregnant for 6 weeks, that would be around 45 or 46 days. Up to now the puppies basically developed into little dogs, and now they will gain lots of weight and grow. You will see her nipples grow in preparation for whelping. In about a week you can take her to a veterinarian for an x-ray, so you will know how many puppies she will have.
