My dog chewed a raw spot from fleas. Can I use antibacterial ointment?

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | neutered | 9 years and 11 months old | 9 lbs

My dog Hitch has fleas and getting meds tomorrow, but he chewed a raw spot and I put an apple cider vinegar spray on him but I think it hurt him. Can I put an antibacterial ointment on him?

Disinfection may be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. A check up, appropriate disinfection and possibly antibiotics (oral, topical or in a shampoo formulation) are needed to solve the problem. Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any licking/scratching.
