My kitten's bitten ear is detaching. What should I do for infection?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My 5 month yo kitten came home with a severely bitten ear.We have been cleaning the area with warm water & applying ointment. His face got swollen within a day after the bite but ever since we have been taking care, there is absolutely no abscess & face is back in shape. However, now a part of his ear is detaching and hanging. There is some yellowish white cast collected on the affected area.Haven't fed any antibiotics though, please suggest something which is available in India. Before & after pics.

This is a severe infection and should be treated as soon as possible. Some amoxicillin and clavulanic acid both locally and systemically could help and should be the first choice. If this antibiotic won't help a bacterial swab should be taken to identify the type of infection more specifically. Always handle this wound with gloves as well.
