My dog has a purple bump with red specks near her nipple. What is it?

Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund | Female | spayed

This bump popped up on my dog within probably the last two weeks or so, I’m not for sure. But I’m just wondering what it could be or what could have caused it? It’s in the middle of her abdomen right next to her nipple. It’s a purple bump with a few red specks in it.

I would recommend bringing Mary to a veterinarian to have it aspirated. It may be a growth that needs to be removed or it may be nothing. The aspirate would be sent to a lab to have a pathologist review it and let you know what it is. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
