Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach, Rosy! If your dog has an enlarged area on her chest/abdomen that you think is mammary (breast tissue), this can be a sign of an infection (mastitis) or a cancerous growth. Infections occur in dogs that are nursing puppies, while cancerous growths are more common in older dogs that are not fixed. I recommend having your dog seen by a vet as soon as possible, especially if the area is red, warm, and/or painful. After a physical exam, your vet can discuss further diagnostics and treatment options with you. I hope all is well!
