My dog has a sore. Is it serious? What can I put on it before the vet?

I was wondering if this could be super serious, and if there was anything safe I could put on my dogs sore before taking him to the vet. Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | unneutered | 7 months and 21 days old | 65 lbs

I would recommend bringing Grayson to a veterinarian. It looks very irritated and potentially from him licking at it. It may be something like a histiocytoma which is a benign growth that gets big and ugly but then resolves. This happens in young dogs so I wouldn't be surprised if that is what it is.
