Is it safe to switch my 11-year-old dog from NexGard to Bravecto?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 11 years and 3 months old | 58 lbs

Can you give an 11years old dog Bravetco, after having been on NexGard for a few months, but waiting a few days beyond the last treatment?

Yes, you can give Vicky Bravecto after having been on Nexguard for a few months. Bravecto and Nexguard are in the same class of medication, so just continue as you would with Nexguard for the first dose of Bravecto. I would wait at least two weeks after giving Nexguard before giving Bravecto.
