Should I toilet train my cat? Is it safe to ditch the litter box?

Been pondering whether I should train my cat to use a human toilet and ditch the whole litter box system or not. Most of the scientific consensus is against it... what do you think doctor? Is it merely to protect the litter products market? Or is it actually bad for them? Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Female | spayed | 10 months and 23 days old | 9 lbs

In my experience this training is not very effective and should be ideally performed earlier in life. I don’t think there is any “litter tray lobby” (yet), si there is no consensus about it. I can’t see how it could be detrimental for cat. I would suggest to remain with the same old school method.
