How to keep my cat safe from falling off the apartment balcony?

Is here a way to keep my cat from getting on this balcony? I just moved in to this apartment and I’m about to add furniture which will make it easier for him to get up there. I worry about him falling off while I’m at work but I don’t want to lock him up all day. So far, he’s just pushed stuff off of it but his been fine. It’s a long way down and I don’t want him to get hurt. Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 1 year and 2 months old | 11 lbs

There are nets you can affix to the balcony so he cannot fall off. Search for "balcony cat netting" on the internet. This would be for outside balconies though. However you could have that affixed from the balcony over to the wall. Since that balcony is inside the house, I doubt he will fall off. However you may not be able to decorate that balcony with things, as he will start playing with the decorations......and break them.
