As of yet, we have very little research on CBD oil in veterinary patients, so we cannot make any recommendations one way or the other about this product - we do not know what an appropriate dose might be, and if there are any potential health concerns or drug interactions in dogs. It's also illegal for vets to recommend using it because it's a Schedule 1 controlled substance. Sorry I can't offer a perspective!

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! That is the main issue, not knowing how safe it is. In my experience the patients that I have that have used it have tolerated it well so probably though there is literature or study looking at the safety of using CBD oil in dogs. Good luck!

There have not been enough studies done on dogs with CBD oil to know if it will have harmful long term effects or not so there is no way to answer your question with 100% certainty. In my opinion, if it is helping her, keep giving it so that she can be comfortable.
