My dog has stringy yellow poop that gets stuck. Could it be worms?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | spayed | 6 years and 3 months old | 7 lbs

My dog has pooped out yellowish-brown stringy poop. She's done this 4 times within 2 weeks where it gets stuck and I have to gently pull it out. Unfortunately I haven't examined the poop when it happens because I thought it was grass or something like that, but now I think she might have some worms.

You can take a fresh stool sample to your veterinarian and have it examined. You can also get a wormer from your vet or from a pet shop. You also might want to take Iggy to the vet for a wellness exam.
