Why hasn't my new 4-week-old puppy pooped since coming home?

Question

New puppy has not pooped since we brought her home 36hrs ago. After observing her more i think she is barely 4-5wks (not 8wks they told me). She is eating wet, some puppy milk and playful and happy when awake. She has been peeing regularly but no poop. Tried the warm cotton ball on her bottom to try to stimulate, but no luck. Any suggestions? I have vet appointment tomorrow. Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | unspayed

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I wouldn’t worry yet at just 36 hours. Some dogs are particular about their pooping habits. As long as she is eating, playful and not straining give her more time. If she can urinate in her own she can poop on her own. You can also call the person you got her from to double check what she did with them. Since you are seeing your vet tomorrow she should be fine. Have a good day!
