Why are my dog's paw pads shedding like reptile skin? Is it normal?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 1 month old

I noticed that his paws are shedding? It was cracked without any bleeding but now his paws is shedding like a reptile skin with fresh soft paws under... Is this normal?

It would be helpful if you could attach pictures to help us assess what might be going on. Dry skin from dietary issues or sensitivities, contact irritation and some skin disorders can be associated with similar signs. If he is lame or uncomfortable, or dislikes you looking at them, a full vet check as soon as possible is advised
