Why are my dog's paw pads shedding like reptile skin? Is it normal?

I noticed that his paws are shedding? It was cracked without any bleeding but now his paws is shedding like a reptile skin with fresh soft paws under... Is this normal? Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 1 month old

Dry skin from dietary issues or sensitivities, contact irritation and some skin disorders can be associated with similar signs.
