My husky has a dark, changing lump between his toes. What is it?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Male | unneutered | 7 years and 11 months old | 75 lbs

my husky has a thumbnail size lump between his toes. It was light pink and we've been applying a anitibiotic solution (old Indian herb that ususally works on all his sores over 8 years), and it has bled at times and now its turning dark purple. What can it be? Cannot afford to take to Vet tile October 1st. Please help.

Skin masses like Oso's can be many things, and without seeing a photo it's difficult to guess, but generally they can be mast cell tumors, warts or melanomas. Since it's changing color, that does suggest it may be somewhat aggressive. I would monitor very closely for changes and not apply anything to it. If it gets bigger/changes color again, try and take Oso to your vet earlier. If it stays the same, October 1st isn't too far out and your vet will be able to diagnose what it is at that time. I hope that helps. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!
