There is very limited research on CBD oil concerning pets so far and therefore I would be reluctant to use it on my pets. I suggest waiting until there is more research and proof of beneficial effects as well as research on long-term effects.

No. CBD oil is derived from hemp oil, so it contains zero or very small amounts of THC (the compound responsible for the "high" in cannabis). Used appropriately and under the direction of your veterinarian, it may offer many benefits to Odie's health.

What do you think of CBD oil for an old dog ( 14 yrs old Scottish terrier female) with old age issues
We just don’t have much data on CBD oil and safety in pets right now. All I can say is use it cautiously if you desire and choose a product marketed for pets. If you see any abnormal symptoms at all take Cafe to the vet for evaluation. I would also discuss her old dog issues with the vet to make sure she is on any necessary medications or supplements.

So I cannot say if it is safe to give Canyon the CBD oil along with his pain medications. Because of that, I do not recommend it.

There are medications that can work for dogs like Oscar with anxiety, and I would speak to her about that. Best of luck.

That is a great question and I am sorry to hear about your pet. We, as a profession, have yet to fully embrace medical marijuana for a variety of reasons including toxicity, lack of data to support benefits, dosing and side effects, and legalities associated with prescribing and dispensing the drug (at this time we cannot legally prescribe CBD oil). With that said, I do believe it will have a role for therapeutic intervention and we have a group of veterinarians helping to the pave the way. Is it OK to give your dog normal CBD oil and not the pet CBD oil if you make sure you give them the exact milligrams and dosing as what the pet stuff says?
Unfortuantely we could never recommend and say it is ok to give your pet human medication if it is not prescribed specifically for your pet. There is too much room for human error when trying to microdose human medication to pets. Also there may be contaminants or other ingredients there that are not suitable for dogs, so it is best to use caution and stick with the pet formulated one that has been tested in pets. Also we are not legally able to prescribe CBD oils to pets in most states, so experimenting with this lies entirely on the owner and your research. The law has made it clear to us that we just don't know enough about CBD oil to competently prescribe it and educate owners on its use. With that said, there are some pet owners that say it has helped their pets with arthritis and pain, while others say it hasn't helped at all. It is still considered a supplement and is anectdotal, which means that there isn't enough research to say that it is going to be helpful for most p
