My 2-month pug has a fever and runny nose. What can I do at home?

Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 12 days old | 22 lbs

My 2 month pug's temperature is 103.6F.Watery cold is dripping from his nose.I can't take him to the vet right now.Please suggest what to do.

Hello. It sounds like your little puppy may have a respiratory infection. Unfortunately, there really are no safe over the counter medications for a puppy this young. Do NOT give any children’s cold medication or ibuprofen, Tylenol, etc. Closely monitor his temperature and encourage him to eat and drink. Some of these infections run their course on their own, but it can be more problematic in a very young puppy of 2 months of age. If your puppy’s fever continues and he becomes lethargic, not eating or develops a thick nasal discharge, veterinary care will be required.
