Why is my rabbit hiding and shivering? How do I calm him down?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Male | 2 months and 12 days old | 1.6 lbs

Is my rabbit scared/angry at me? I opened the cage once and he went under the sofa. After since, i tried to tell him not to go under the sofa and sometimes he will try to. Just, he went under the sofa and when i caught him to put him back in the cage, he was shivering but still let me pet him. What do i do?

Your rabbit was probably frightened by what happened. You will have to slowly work with him to regain your trust. Just be patient with him and use lots of treats and he will go back to normal soo. Additionally, when you take him outside if the cage, only allow him into a safe area where he cannot sneak under the furniture and hurt himself. I hope this helps.
