My dog was hit by a car, won't eat, is in pain, and breathing hard.

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | unneutered | 10 months and 18 days old | 17 lbs

My dog who's 10 months got hit by a car yesterday and was unconscious at first but got up after a few minutes. We rushes him straight to the vet but they wouldn't see him. So I brought him home to wait it out and he won't really move eat or drink anything I've tried giving him medicine but he still shacking in pain he also having a hard time breathing what should I do?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Squeaker. I recommend that he sees his veterinarian today as he could have sustained serious injuries. If his normal veterinarian is still not able to see him, then I would try another hospital or emergency clinic. You need to rule out an broken bones and internal injuries. He could also be painful as well. Do not give over-the-counter pain medication as these can be toxic to dogs. In the meantime, keep him quiet to allow his body to rest. Encourage him to eat and drink. Good luck!
