Skye has a woven basket bed and she keeps chewing the edges. I believe she is teething. How can I encourage her to stop? Or how to divert her attention or chew something appropriate?

You are correct she is probably teething. I would cover the basket with a thick towel to prevent her from getting to it, or remove the basket entirely until she’s older. I don’t want her to get sick from this. There are lots of cat toys available so get some that are safe for her to chew on. She should grow out of this in a few months. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care for Skye.
