Pet's info: Dog | Bichon Frise | Male | neutered | 6 months and 2 days old | 7.8 lbs
Puppy just turned 6 months old. Typically sleeps throughout day in crate while everyone at work, our 1x for brief walk and bathroom midday. Last 2 weeks having increased barking, wandering and somewhat rebellious behavior that was not present previously. Upcoming neutering appt scheduled ... will the surgery subside some of these “adolescent” tendencies or are they related to teething? Is there anything else we can do to help him?

You’ve reached the teenage stage. Plenty of exercise is needed to get him tired which will lessen this adolescent behavior. Neutering will help also but mostly it will improve as he gets to be an adult. I do recommend a group obedience class. That will help him learn to focus on you with other people and dogs around and will challenge his mind also. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care for Guido.
