How to potty train an unvaccinated puppy outside with pee pads?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Goldendoodle | Female | spayed | 2 months and 10 days old | 10 lbs

How can we go about potty training Belle to go outside? She hasn’t been fully vaccinated so she can’t go outside I’ve been told. Also since we have Molly who is trained on a pee pad, how will that go with Belle? Is that going to confuse her? Or maybe help Molly go outside?

Belle should avoid areas where there may be unvaccinated dogs, but you will need to take her outside to potty train her and it may not go as well if you try to wait until she is fully vaccinated. Keep her on a leash and avoid contact with other dogs. Belle may get confused if there are pee pads indoors and she may use them. I doubt she will help Molly go outside but you could work on potty training the two of them together.
