Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Boxer | Male | unneutered | 6 years and 2 months old | 56 lbs

My boxer has epulis' in his mouth. At least 4 of them. One is his bottom jaw a right in the front, (see photo) I understand that there is not much they can do for this however he has a small growth on it that does not look very nice.

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. Unfortunately, Boxer's are predisposed to developing this type of mass in the mouth. These can be removed surgically but commonly come back. I typically recommend removing these if they are increasing in size or if they are causing a problem and the dog is biting down on the epulis when chewing food causing the mass to bleed. If you are interested in having these removed, I would discuss this with your veterinarian so that you can arrange for this to be done. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.
