My cat is in prolonged labor, panting, not delivering. What now?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed

My cat is in labor for about 8 hours. She delivered a still born kitten. There are kittens in her. She is opening her mouth wide open and panting hard. She is not delivering any more kittens. What should I do? The vet will be only available by 9 am tommorow. Will something happen to my cat. She had a ceserian 2 and a half months ago. Please advise me further. I am almost worried to death.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Oh no! With the previous history of a C-section and how she is behaving now has me really worried. She needs to see a Vet now, waiting until the morning is not advised. Is there an open emergency hospital or vet that has hours now? I do not know what shape Fruity will be in and if the kittens will be alive by the morning. I wish you add Fruity the best!
