Why is my young puppy suddenly uncoordinated, whining, and dying?

What can make a 7 would old puppy that's never been outside all of a sudden be uncoordinated and whine and within a few hours die? Other animals have survived here from 6-7 wks old and this has just started. They are eating, drinking and playing and then all of a sudden bam that hits and happens. PLEASE let me know and help with information or possiblies. Thank you! Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | unspayed | 2 years and 1 month old | 9 lbs

I am sorry to hear about your puppy. In a puppy that size we do worry about hypoglycemia, which can present with these symptoms. A severe liver shunt, a cardiac defect, and a toxicity would also be suspected. If you have other puppies I would recommend getting a necropsy done on the puppy who died to try to help identify the underlying cause in case it is something you need to monitor in the other puppies.
