Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 5 months and 6 days old | 4.2 lbs
Watson is actually going on 5 1/2 months and only weighs 3.3 pds. He's had difficulty eating appetite wise for over a week. Now that he is eating - though slowly - he has frequent bouts of diarrhea and vomiting. He's had bloodwork and testing done - all clear. Fluids, antibiotics, anti-nausea meds have been given. No response back on if he should have an at home IV bag provided etc. Do I need a second opinion? His current vet said to try a variety of foods and offered an appetite stimulant.

Hi. Poor little Watson. If he is rhat sick, no meds are helping, then yes i would get a second opinion. There are many things that dont show up on basic tests. The top things i think of in a 5.5 mo old kitten is an infection, eating something he shouldnt have that could be stuck, parasites, food allergy, and much more. I would make sure a fecal sample has beeen checked and cultured, check for any strings under the tongue, an FelV FIV test and an ultrasound (searching for something possibly stuck). I hope he feels better soon.
