HELP! My dog chews her nails and never had a problem till now. She got a bit of nail stuck between her canine and front tooth. I've tried tweezers and got some out, tried peanut butter and that seemed to bring it down, but I'm trying to avoid a vet trip at all costs and i just can't seem to get it without a dental pick. It doesn't seem to be bothering the gums yet, but I'd like to know if there are any other tricks & what signs I should look for that mean the vet is inevitable. THANK YOU!

I am sorry to hear about Coco! I would try picking up some dog toothpaste and toothbrush and see if this could help. Pet stores, vet offices, and online retailers sell these specially made toothpaste kits and sometimes they come with a fingerbrush that you can use to try to grip/work out the nail. I would monitor for redness/swelling of the gums, pain/difficulty eating, discharge around the gumline. If you notice any of these things, a vet visit is recommended.
