Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 3 years and 6 months old | 26 lbs
My dog threw up last night then threw up twice again seven hours later. A bunch of brown liquid with few chunks (sorry! Ew! I know.). I gave her some unflavored Pedialyte which she took. Is there anything else I should be doing?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Biscuit! I would actually recommend with holding fluids for 6 hours and food for 12-24 hours. If there is no vomiting in 6 hours offer small amounts of water frequently. If that goes well (no vomiting) then start feeding at 12-24 hours with a bland diet. use boiled chicken or hamburger with rice. Feed 1 cup per 20 lbs per day for 3-5 days. Causes of vomiting are: intestinal parasites, viral or bacterial infections, dietary indiscretion, foreign body blockage, pancreatitis, toxin ingestion or metabolic changes. If she continues to vomit she should be seen by your Vet before the weekend. I wish you and Biscuit the best!

She might have eaten something spoiled that is causing this. withhold food for 12 hours then offer Kazooie boiled boneless chicken and rice every 6 hours in small portions. if she is eating and not vomiting, continue with this diet for 2 days. After 2 days, you can put her back gradually on her normal food. If she continues vomiting or is not eating, take her to the vet to get treatment.

This could be just dietary related and may be an incidental episode. I would suggest to withhold food for the next 6 hours and then start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice diarrhoea, more vomiting, lethargy or inappetence.
