My dog woke up with a runny nose and thick mucus. What do I do? Should I go to the vet or will it go away on it’s own?

Ideally, Suku should be physically examined by your veterinarian. If his symptoms are due to bacterial infection, he will need antibiotics. If it is viral, he may need antibiotics to prevent secondary infection. Supportive care can also be administered as indicated. If the symptoms are allergic, antihistamines or even steroids may help. Without an exam, it is impossible to say what the cause is and if it will resolve on it's own.
