Is my chihuahua's reverse sneezing and eye discharge due to allergies?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | spayed | 7 years and 1 month old | 6 lbs

Hello, I recently moved and my chihuahua has been reverse sneezing a lot more than usual. I would say movie than 5 to 10x a day or more. I’m walking her more since we moved as well however she wears a harness. When she breathes in and out it sometimes sounds like she has a stuffy nose. Could she be allergic to our new home? Does she have a collapsed trachea that’s obstructing her breathing. She also has been sneezing too. Also she has had more eye discharge too like boogies in her eyes.

Hi, thanks for using PetCoach! It sounds like allergies or an infection. You can try an antihistamine and see if there is any improvement. If the discharge from his eyes becomes yellow or green or he develops similar colored discharge or blood from his nose he should be seen. Good luck! https://www.petcoach.co/canigive/dog/zyrtec/
