Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | unneutered | 6 lbs
My cat is going in for deworming on Wednesday and then being neutered the next day, and although I'm not sure if they will give him medicine that day or a later date, I just want to know if it's safe to give a cat deworming medicine right before undergoing surgery or if I should wait to start his treatment and give him the medicine until after the surgery takes place? If so how many days should I wait before starting his deworming treatment? Thank you!

Hello, the deworming medication is safe to give prior to surgery as it does not directly interact with the common anesthetics. However, the deworming medication may cause diarrhea and an upset stomach. This can add stress at the time of surgery and perhaps cause a poor appetite post surgery. If you'd like to be completely safe, you can separate the both, however, your kitten should be fine to have both procedures done so close to one another. Hope this helps and best of luck.
