Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 2 years old | 53 lbs
We recently found this spot on our 2 year old hound. We do hike in Michigan and check him regularly for ticks, but just discovered this just to the rear of one of his front legs, on his belly. It doesn’t bother him unless messed with. Different photos attached show the change when squeezed. Any thoughts on what it could be? We are concerned about a tick or some sort of eggs...

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! From your pictures it looks like a growth. It doesn’t look like a tick or an egg. Possible causes are benign sebaceous hyperplasia or adenoma or histiocytoma or a more sinister mast cell tumor. Sadly many skin growths can look the same. It isn’t wrong to have your vet check it out. I definitely would do that if it grows quickly. Good luck!
