My cat's muzzle cut has a black scab. Will it heal without stitches?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | unneutered | 4 years and 8 months old | 15 lbs

My cat came home with a clean cut on his muzzle, it was ripped vertically, no swelling,no bleeding, no other scratch mark,as if someone cut his muzzle with scissor. i boiled some water after it cooled down, cleaned his wound then applied 2 drop of honey, the next day the wound healed, no swelling outside, i check inside his mouth also no puss or redding, he's eating as much as usual, no fever. However the wound now has horrible black scab, can his muzzle sealed again without stitches?

It is really difficult for us to help you with a question like this without a photo. My guess without having that is that the wound is healing fine and I would recommend you just leave it alone. Many wounds heal just fine without stitches. If you would like to post again with some photos we may be able to help you better. Best wishes.
