What's the best adult food for a Boston Terrier switching to grains?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Boston Terrier | Male | unneutered | 24 lbs

What is the best dry dog food for the first adult dog food switching from puppy grain-free food to adult dry dog food with grains in it for the boston terrier breed? no health issues and no allergies nothing like that. Eating Castor and Pollux organic dry puppy food right now transitioning to Hill's Science Diet Adult Light Small Bites Dry Dog Food. The vet said I had to switch to a food that has grains in it. Second meal with science diet in it really gassing alot more then usually.

It can be trial and error to try to find a dog food that is perfect for that dog. Boston Terriers are a breed known to have flatulence. Any food you select, slowly mix in the new food over 2-4 weeks to avoid causing upset stomach or diarrhea. I have always fed my dogs Purina ProPlan. The reason your vet probably wants grains in the diet is because there is recent concern about heart disease in dogs on grain-free diets.
