Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 6 years and 6 months old | 42 lbs
My dog's left eye has glaucoma and got blind. The eye vet did a surgery to remove her left eye. She was okay for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, the vet removed her recovery cone and she started to pull her hair out from the tail and not eating. Do you know what happened? Thank you so much!

There could be a few different things going on with Coco. This could be her anal glands bothering her, fleas or allergies. Anal glands are scent glands at the back of a dog's rectum. When they get full they can get very itchy and dogs either scoot their butt or bite at their butt, tail or their hind end. It sometimes looks like they are pulling their hair out also. I would definitely recommend having them checked. I say fleas because fleas typically live at the base of the tail. Not really on the tail but the base. Since it is so close to where they love to be I would make sure Coco is on a flea and tick prevention as precaution. It may be allergies but I say less likely. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
