Pet's info: Dog | American Cocker Spaniel | Male | neutered | 9 years and 10 months old | 34 lbs
My dog Peyton has a really bad ear infection. It'll be at least another month before I can get him in to see a vet for his problem but I wanted to know is there anything that I can do right now to get his ears cleaned up and free of bacteria and the nasty smell? He is an American Cocker Spaniel at 9 years old. He's had this your problem now for about a year and I noticed sometimes he has a little bit of shaking his head but it always a wet sound when he shakes his head

You can try rinsing the ears twice daily with an alcohol free ear cleanser which can help to remove the debris and wax/discharge which is present - this will help to flush the ears and reduce the smell. If he is too painful to allow you then sedation under veterinary supervision may be required
