My dog's diarrhea had blood, now it's yellow and soft. Is this bad?

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | unspayed | 2 years and 8 months old | 4.1 lbs

Hello, my name is Brenda, I have a 3 years old Chihuahua whose name is Abby, since Friday she is been having diarrhea with blood, today the stool looked better but still soft and with a yellowish color. I am feeding her with unseasoned boiled chicken breast and white rice. Please I need some help, Thank you.

Ideally, she should be seen by your veterinarian since the diarrhea has persisted for more than 48 hours. If this is not possible, since Abby is still behaving normally otherwise, you can continue to feed a bland diet in small,frequent amounts. Feed bland until the stool is normal then transition slowly to her regular diet. Make sure she continues to drink as well to prevent dehydration. You can mix some unflavored PediaLyte in with her water. If she becomes lethargic, begins vomiting, stops eating or if the diarrhea continues, then have her examined by your veterinarian.
