Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Beagle | Male | unneutered | 7 months and 3 days old | 13 lbs

My beagle of 7months had accident 7days back. After 2 days he did surgery as both his femur were fractured and pelvis also. Will he be able to stand hold his body or walk again? Also he didn't pass stools after the accident.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Buzz! I would hope that he will! It will take time for the bones to heal, up to 6-8 weeks. I wouldn't expect much attempts to walk for several weeks. I would contact your Vet soon if he is eating and hasn't pooped yet. My assumption is that he can not figure out how to posture to poop. Once he does he should be fine. I wish you and Buzz the best!
