Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | spayed
Starting about a day ago my labrador retriever has been licking her lips a lot in intervals followed by swallowing. When she does this licking her mouth makes a kind of sloshing sound, and when she swallows there is a really strong odor that comes from her mouth. Just now, about 5 minutes ago I approached her on my bed and she started viciously chattering her teeth, which I fear may be related to the lip licking. This is my first dog, and I've only had her for 2 weeks. Please help!

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Minnie. She may have dental disease that is painful and causing the signs you have described. She could also be experiencing nausea. If her symptoms persist, I recommend that she sees her veterinarian. A thorough examination will be performed and hopefully the doctor will be able to tell you to the source of her problem. Then treatment can be recommended of necessary. I hope this information helps!
