Should a betta fish filter run continuously in a 1-gallon tank?

If I have a 1-gallon tank for 1 betta fish how long do I keep my filter on? My filter is GPH is adjustable. Pet's info: Fish | Unknown - Fish | Male

The filter should remain on all the time. That is mainly what keeps the water clean. You should still perform weekly partial water changes, no more than 30% total volume. Since the filter is adjustable, turn it down to the lowest setting. Bettas do best in slow moving water.
