My 6-week-old Labrador puppies seem small. How can I help them grow?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

I have 10 labrador puppies. They are 6 weeks old now but i think they are small for their age. What can I do to enhance their growth? Their mother stopped giving them milk at 4 weeks.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Congrats on Casey’s new babies. They are old enough now to be on puppy food. I would offer them canned puppy food (like Science Diet/Hills, Royal Canin, Purina or Iams) on a plate so they can stand in it. They also have teeth now so can have dry puppy food, too. I would also have a vet see the puppies to make sure they look healthy, check their stool for microscopic intestinal parasites, and start their vaccines. Good luck and kisses to Casey and her pups!
