My dog's nose is raw from digging, and home remedies aren't working.

Question

My dog, Charlie, likes to dig, A LOT. He sticks his nose is the dirt and it gets all scraped up! I have tried to clean his nose and put antibiotic cream on it but the problem only gets worse. What can I do to help him? Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Male | 20 lbs

This looks like it might not simply be from digging. I can see what looks like hair loss all the way up the bridge of Charlie’s nose. I would recommend having your vet examine him - he might need antibiotics. Your vet might recommend taking a biopsy to rule out autoimmune skin diseases that can affect the nose.
